Guilty Cheesecake was born from a simple obsession: the perfect Basque cheesecake. We're three friends from Spain, with Basque roots, who grew up with the burnt top and impossibly creamy center that made this dessert famous.

We didn't want to simply find a good cheesecake in San Diego—we wanted to bring the cheesecake that tastes like home. So we brought the family recipe, the technique and a little Basque stubbornness, and started baking right here in San Diego, made fresh for local pickup in Encinitas.

Every cheesecake is a small piece of the Basque Country: deeply caramelized on top, creamy in the middle and made with the same care we'd give it back home.
